The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy prepares students to think deeply, reason carefully, and engage thoughtfully with the questions that shape human life. Through the study of ethics, metaphysics, political philosophy, logic, and the history of philosophical thought, students develop the analytical, research, and communication skills needed to examine complex ideas and address contemporary challenges. Working closely with faculty mentors, students pursue areas of personal interest through sustained research culminating in a thesis or final project. Graduates are prepared for careers and graduate study in law, public policy, education, business, ministry, nonprofit leadership, and other fields that value critical thinking, ethical leadership, and intellectual curiosity.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of a degree in Philosophy, students will:
- Identify key themes, influential thinkers, and major debates in the history of philosophy.
- Evaluate and engage scholarly literature within a focused area of philosophical inquiry.
- Conduct sustained research culminating in a thesis or other significant scholarly project.
