Full-Time Status in the Traditional Undergraduate Program

Enrollment status in the Traditional Undergraduate Program is determined by the number of credits in which a student is enrolled per semester. This policy defines full-time status, standard credit load expectations, and conditions for enrollment above the standard maximum.

Full-Time Enrollment

Full-time status is defined as enrollment in 12 or more credits per semester. This definition is used for academic standing, financial aid eligibility, athletic participation, housing, and other institutional determinations.

Students typically enroll in 15–18 credits per semester to support timely progress toward degree completion. Credit load, rather than number of courses, determines enrollment status, as individual courses may carry varying credit values.

Students may not enroll in more than 18 credits per semester without approval from Academic Affairs.

Credit Load Limits

Students approved for enrollment above 18 credits will be responsible for additional per-credit tuition charges for credits exceeding 18. Students may request a waiver of per-credit overload charges when credits above 18 are attributable solely to required laboratory coursework, clinical placements, student teaching, or required one-credit courses, subject to approval from Academic Affairs and the Bursar's Office.
