Academic advising is an integral part of the educational experience at Albertus Magnus College. Advisors partner with students to support academic achievement, personal growth, and progress toward degree completion. Through collaborative planning and ongoing guidance, advisors help students understand degree requirements, explore academic and career opportunities, and make informed decisions about their educational goals.
Mission and Vision
Entering first-year and transfer students are assigned a trained academic advisor who assists them in developing an academic plan and navigating the transition to college. As students progress toward degree completion, advising becomes a collaborative process involving faculty and professional staff who support academic, career, and personal development.
Students are required to meet with their academic advisor prior to registration each term and are encouraged to seek advising whenever questions or concerns arise regarding academic planning, degree requirements, or educational goals.
Advising Process
Academic Advisors are dedicated to providing holistic, student-centered advising that promotes student development, engagement, and success. Advisors serve as educators, mentors, and advocates who help students identify and build upon their strengths while navigating their academic journey. Through meaningful relationships and connections to campus resources, advisors empower students to take an active role in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals.
