A degree from Albertus Magnus College signifies not only academic achievement but also a commitment to the highest standards of academic honesty and intellectual integrity. Students are expected to conduct themselves ethically in all coursework, examinations, research, and scholarly activities.

Students are responsible for:

  • Respecting the rights of others to fair and equitable access to library, laboratory, technology, and other academic resources.
  • Obtaining permission from the instructor before submitting the same paper, project, presentation, or assignment in more than one course.
  • Completing assignments independently unless collaboration has been approved by the instructor.
  • Using artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies only in accordance with course, assignment, and instructor requirements.
  • Acknowledging and appropriately citing the use of AI-generated content, tools, or assistance when permitted by the instructor.
  • Acknowledging and citing the ideas, words, data, and creative work of others.
  • Ensuring that all submitted work ultimately reflects the student's own understanding, analysis, and academic effort.

Examinations and Assessments

The College's honor system requires students to demonstrate honesty and integrity in all examinations and assessments.

Students shall:

  • Neither give nor receive unauthorized assistance during examinations, quizzes, or other assessments.
  • Refrain from using books, notes, study guides, electronic devices, artificial intelligence tools, websites, or other resources unless specifically permitted by the instructor.
  • Follow all instructions provided by the instructor regarding permitted materials, technologies, and assessment procedures.
  • Sign or electronically acknowledge the College's honor pledge when required.

The use of artificial intelligence and other technology-assisted tools is governed by course and assignment-specific requirements established by the instructor. Students are responsible for understanding and complying with those requirements. When permitted, the use of AI must be transparent, appropriately acknowledged, and consistent with the learning objectives of the course. Failure to comply with an instructor's stated AI policy may constitute a violation of academic and intellectual integrity.
