Albertus Magnus College provides professional licensure information for programs that may lead to professional licensure or certification in the United States. Participation in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA) does not grant reciprocity or exempt Albertus Magnus College from state professional licensing requirements.
Several Albertus Magnus College academic programs have been designed to meet accreditation and licensure/certification requirements in the State of Connecticut, and to prepare students to apply for licensure or certification exams in Connecticut. Licensing requirements in Connecticut may not satisfy requirements in other states or territories. Students planning to seek licensure outside of Connecticut should consult the appropriate state licensing board in their state of residence and review the NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory for guidance. California is currently not a member of SARA, so additional state authorization or licensure requirements may apply to students residing there. Visit our website for more information.
Federal Disclosure Requirement
In accordance with federal regulations (34 CFR §668.43) and NC-SARA policy, Albertus Magnus College discloses whether its programs meet or do not meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in any U.S. state or territory. Albertus Magnus College provides direct written notification (including email) to students when a program does not meet the educational requirements for licensure in the student’s state of residence. Such notification is provided prior to enrollment or within 14 calendar days of the institution making the determination.
Student Location Determination
For licensure disclosure purposes, a student’s state of residence is determined based on the address provided at the time of application and any subsequent updates submitted to the College. Students are responsible for reporting changes in their residence through the myAlbertus Self-Service portal, as such changes may affect licensure eligibility. Questions should be directed to registrar@albertus.edu.
Relocation and Attestation
If a student resides in a state where a program does not meet educational licensure requirements but intends to relocate to a state where the program does meet such requirements, the student will be required to submit written attestation of their intent to relocate prior to enrollment or continued participation in the program.
Undergraduate Licensure Programs
Undergraduate programs that may lead to professional licensure are designed to meet educational requirements for licensure in specific states; however, licensure requirements vary by state and may include additional conditions beyond degree completion.
Students are advised of licensure requirements prior to enrollment, during academic advising, and throughout program progression. Students should consult the appropriate state licensing board to confirm eligibility requirements applicable to their state of residence.
Graduate Licensure Programs
Graduate programs that lead to professional licensure require careful review of state-specific licensure requirements, which may differ based on prior education, professional experience, or supervised practice requirements.
Graduate students receive licensure disclosures prior to enrollment, during academic
advising and coursework preparation, and upon any material change in licensure determinations.
Students intending to seek licensure in a state other than Connecticut are strongly
encouraged to confirm licensure eligibility with the appropriate state licensing board
prior to enrollment.
Student Responsibility
Completion of a program does not guarantee licensure, certification, or employment in any state. Students are responsible for:
- Confirming eligibility with the licensing board in their state of residence
- Reviewing additional state-specific requirements, including supervision hours, professional experience, exams, or coursework beyond degree requirements
Employers may also consider factors such as criminal background, U.S. citizenship, state residency, physical and psychological health, age, and military discharge status. Certain criminal convictions or conduct may prevent or limit licensure eligibility or employment. Some employers may require drug screening.
Consult the NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory for additional guidance.
