Students who have been academically dismissed from an undergraduate program at Albertus Magnus College will not be eligible for readmission for a minimum of one (1) calendar year following the date of dismissal.
To be considered for readmission, students will be required to complete all of the following:
- Successfully complete a minimum of twelve (12) credits at an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in all coursework attempted. An official transcript will be required for evaluation and transfer consideration;
- Submit a formal written statement describing the circumstances that contributed to prior academic performance and outlining specific steps the student will take to support future academic success; and
- Submit a completed readmission application in accordance with institutional procedures.
Readmission decisions will be made in collaboration by the Office of Admissions, Dean, and any other appropriate academic leadership.
Students who are readmitted following academic dismissal will be placed on Academic Review and will be required to meet all conditions of Academic Review as outlined in the Academic Review policy, including the completion of a remediation plan and the achievement of a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, where applicable.
Students who are readmitted and are subsequently academically dismissed a second time will be permanently dismissed from the College and will not be eligible for readmission until after five (5) years of non-enrollment.
In cases involving documented extenuating circumstances, students who are otherwise ineligible for readmission may submit a petition for review.
